Bee-Bots! First Grade Coders!
My students need Bee-Bot Programmable Robots to learn simple coding skills.
I have a class full of eager six and seven year old learners. They are happy and want to learn and try new things. They love hands-on activities and will try anything....even if at first it is too hard. They keep trying!
We are learning about growth mindset and how we don't just give up when something doesn't work the first time.
This is an important concept for first graders! If they say, "I can't do it teacher!" I say...."You mean you can't do it....YET!"
It is so fun to see that light bulb moment when they finally understand the concept that they have been trying to learn for so long!
Learning by doing is always the best way to learn! Bee-Bots are very interactive and fun. They will help my class learn very basic coding skills.
Exploring technology with a Bee-Bot will give them confidence in their coding experience.
This will enable them to have a positive mindset about Math and Technology as they go forward in their schooling.
Bee-Bots help with the understanding of cause and effect. If I tell Bee-Bot to move forward 4 times, he will do so. Therefore they will be working on directional language, vocabulary and planning skills that are basic and necessary to coding and programming. They can even use their newly developed reading skills with a Bee-Bot and an Alphabet Mat!
