My Students
I teach in a Title 1 district urban school. There are over 500 students in this K-5 school. My students need books to read at home for enjoyment! Our school population is diverse and includes students from a variety of racial, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds.
My students need books to treasure and keep forever! More than a third of my students come from low-income families. We provide books to 100 students to build Bedroom Libraries. Please help support our readers.
My Project
Do you love to curl up with a good book? Wouldn't it be great if every child could have such an experience? These high interest books will keep our students reading all summer long. This project will help fund our Bedroom Libraries Program. This program provides a bag of books to 100 students in grades 1-5 for their summer vacation. Help us to prevent a summer reading gap by providing books that they can read independently and enjoy forever! Reading is a life skill to be practiced all year long. I know this will help our students become life long learners. In life and in school they will succeed, they will do well because they can read!
