This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The school I teach at is 30 years old. We are trying to prepare our students for a technological future. Much of the technology that we do have either does not have or does not with come with all the components they need to work. In our case we need a laptop to use with out Interactive Board
I now have 25 bright, energetic, and hungry-to-learn first graders in my classrooms.
We are located in Nevada, where all these children attend a Title I school. For some of these children, school is the only positive in their lives. For others, school is the only place they will be able to touch a book. For some of these children, school is the only place they will get a word of praise or encouragement. These 25 first graders are excited about learning everything they possibly can.
My Project
The solution to our problem our classroom problem is a Toshiba Satellite. Once this laptop is hooked up to the wonderful technology interactive board we have, learning in my classroom can become a true interactive learning environment. An interactive learning environment that every single one of my students both general and special ed can be a part of. This laptop will enable us to do interactive math activities, interactive science activities, interactive social studies, and interactive literacy activities. This interactive activities and lessons will help all my students whether they are visual, tactile, or kinesthetic learners. As we use the laptop in conjunction with the interactive board, the children will be come familiar with technology at it's uses. Without a laptop to make these interactive lesson possibles all of my students will loose out. Especially my inclusion students. This laptop will help me include every child I have in to all of our learning.

Your help will also ensure that these children will have the most appropriate learning environment to get the best education. My students will be exposed to technology that they do not have access to at home. As they learn to use this technology it will begin to prepare them for a world full of technology. Being prepared for a world with technology will mean they will be prepared for school and eventually entering the workforce when they grow-up.
