My Students

I love my students and my community! I have amazing students who are driven and always strive to succeed. These students exhibit a wide range of academic skills that demand a variety of ways to enhance their learning. As a teacher, I try to provide engaging, rigorous, and differentiated activities every day.

It is important to me that I provide effective instruction for all my students, including those with special needs.

I love finding ways to reach all the learning needs in my classroom.

My Project

Even students with severe reading difficulties can learn to read through a method called, "structured literacy." This is an explicit, systematic, and cumulative approach to learning.

Structured literacy is critical for students with dyslexia, but beneficial for all students.

I have recently completed the comprehensive structured literacy training, and would like to deepen my knowledge by attending the intermediate level training. This more advanced course will allow me the opportunity to expand my knowledge in orthography, morphology, and vocabulary. It is applicable for all three tiers of RTI, meaning it will be appropriate for my general education students as well as the students I teach in my reading intervention groups.

I have seen such improvement in my students' reading abilities as I've incorporated structured literacy in my classroom. I know they would benefit even more if I can further my knowledge in this approach. I love and appreciate any support I can get!
