I am so thankful to be able to teach a group of 6 and 7 year olds that are energetic, eager to learn, and filled with curiosity about the world around them! This group of students love to learn through hands-on activities. We are lucky to be apart of a small public school in Vermont in a positive, nurturing, and supportive learning community.
Our classroom is not only is filled with scientists, mathematicians, readers, and authors, but also filled with love and friendship.
What I love most about my classroom is that together we have so much fun while we are learning that we forget that we are even learning!
My Project
Multi-sensory instruction allows students to learn using more than one sense. By using visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile materials, students are able to access learning in a way that successfully meets their learning style(s).
These multi-sensory literacy materials will help to grow my students as readers by allowing them to use multiple pathways to learn.
These materials will be used both in small guided reading group settings as well as small group and individual literacy centers. I have seen first hand the positive impact of multi-sensory literacy instruction, and these additional materials will help my first graders grow even more as readers!
