Help me give my students a comfortable nook to read and be read to by providing a plush Mickey Mouse carpet, a Kindle Fire and headphones to allow them independence.
I have twenty wonderful students who have a wide range of abilities. Some of my students have had the luxury of pre-school, whereas the majority of them have not had the opportunity. All of my students come from loving families, however many of them are not prepared academically for kindergarten.
My students are enthusiastic learners who love the challenges of kindergarten and I love being their teacher.
We would love to have another avenue in our classroom to help our students become successful.
My Project
I have chosen to purchase a Mickey Mouse rug. I am trying to build a comfortable area in my room for the children to read and by read to.
While many of my students are very young, I still have high expectations and aspirations for them.
I am also purchasing a Kindle Fire so that the children can listen to stories and play academic games to reinforce newly taught skills.
The Kindle Readers will allow the children to become independent while reading so that I may focus on small group instruction with my other students.
By providing a comfortable, welcoming reading area, the children will want to spend time there.
