Help me give my students the opportunity to experience hands-on learning through centers and stations. Hands-on math manipulatives and centers just for phonics will assist my students in becoming great readers and mathematicians!
My students are thoughtful and kind. Despite all the obstacles that my children face, they willingly think of others over themselves. My students have a love of reading, a love of mathematics, and I want to be able to enhance their learning by giving them the resources they can utilize to become better in reading and mathematics.
My students attend the highest poverty school in my county.
The majority of my students receive free or reduced-price lunches. However, their economic status makes them that much sweeter because their thoughtfulness is genuine and comes from the heart.
My Project
The items that I have requested are items that I feel will help make learning more engaging, easier to understand, and the students will connect better with the learning because of the hands-on approach they will receive. Phonics plays a huge part in being able to read. As first-graders, my students will be really learning to read with me. I want to be able to give them as much time learning through phonics as possible. Pop! is a really good resource that will assist me during centers/stations to ensure my students are getting all the phonics they can to become the best readers possible.
Math in first grade will be easier to learn with hands on manipulatives such as the base ten blocks that I have requested.
I want to utilize these to help my students better understand place value, addition, and subtraction.
