My Students

Math and reading are becoming great topics of interest in our classroom. They are excited to develop and deepen their conceptual understanding in math and increase their reading comprehension through the use of technology. “Reading is to the brain like exercise is to the body.”

I have an amazing group of 27 diverse 4th graders.

We are a Title 1 school with many students coming from families that are socioeconomically disadvantaged. Many do not have access to technology at home that will help prepare them for college and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

My Project

This project requires three iPads that will be used for math rotations and reading time. Our will be using two great programs Achieve 3000 and ST math that will supplement the students education in great ways. However, these programs require technology to use them, and the one trip to the computer lab weekly is not sufficient.

The use of technology in the classroom today is extremely vital.

This program will improve the classroom and students’ lives greatly. This project will help prepare them for college and careers in STEM.
