This coming year, I will be teaching all subject areas in 4th grade (math, English language arts, science and social studies).
In my class, I will have up to 22 amazing kiddos from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and I am so excited to meet them soon in a few weeks at Meet the Teacher.
My class will be made up of students from diverse backgrounds including students that are bilingual or even learning English as a second language.
My Project
First, thanks so much for taking the time to check this out! The materials I am requesting will help my students become better readers, writers, mathematicians and critical thinkers!
Many students dread writing, math or reading, but Scholastic Storyworks and DynaMath bring all of these subjects to life in a way that textbooks cannot.
Both magazines are vivid, colorful and give students access to a variety of genres and stellar writing examples! Not to mention, they provide students with the background information they may not already have.
4th grade is a HUGE testing year here in Florida. It is their first year take a statewide writing test along with a math and English language arts/reading assessment.
Your contribution will allow my class to have a subscription to these academic magazines so that each student can have their own copy that they can actually write in!
