This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
The beginning of any school year is exciting! I start every year with fun activities that allow the students and teacher to get to know each other. After the first week, the real work begins. My students love the 2 Julia Cookbooks I read to them the second week of school. They put us on the right path of understanding self control and the purpose of feedback. We revisit the books frequently the rest of the year, and we enjoy the activities other teachers have created that go along with the books. Since the pandemic, I've noticed that my students are coming to school with more and more behaviors that need to be addressed. They have definitely missed out on the socialization that happens when working with others in the classroom. With more books from the author Julia Cook and activities from Teachers Pay Teachers, it will help me teach them ways to address and work through these behaviors in an educational enjoyable way!
