My students come from various backgrounds and home lives.
The population within our class is representative of the school population, that is the students come from a range of different living situations. Regardless of their differences, every students holds within him/herself the ability to learn and grow into a passionate student. My students love thinking of themselves as heroes. We are a loud, energized, and passionate class. With a 3:1 ratio of boys to girls, we love asking questions, moving around, and manipulating learning materials.
My Project
To address the quickly changing needs of our young population, we must focus on what manipulatives are made available in the classroom. Beyond traditional counting shelves and rainbow bears, our class seeks a tool that harnesses a multitude of fascinating and beneficial resources. To fill this need, we are hoping that you might join us and help support our efforts to learn like heroes. Using an iPad would help my students to: dive deeper into learning, ask and answer questions about relevant topics, start educational conversations, and regain confidence in learning through engaging apps.
