My Students

My students are thirsty tech-hungry digital natives always looking for the latest developments in gaining technology tools for learning. My students live and work in a small rural southwest Ohio school district. Many of my students have parents and grandparents who have attended the school in the same school buildings. My students have a passion for learning about the world around them as they engage in the learning process. We work in science class to incorporate digital tools and the latest in technology news into our learning process to make the content more relevant for student consumption and engagement.

I also teach 7th & 8th students in an after-school enrichment program where they work to expand their knowledge of the world around us in STEAM and STEM project based experiences.

My Project

When I am able to spend some of my summer away from students learning new methods and instructional techniques, I become reenergized and excited to welcome students back into my classroom in the fall.

I am asking for an active subscription to Because Learning so that I can access the teacher guides and student lessons that will allow me to incorporate technology, engineering and math into my science classroom.

With this active subscription I will continue to update my base knowledge of sensors to feel confident teaching lessons to my students incorporating real world applications of them into our science classroom. Imagine students using sensors, mirrors and laser pointers to design and create a classroom alarm system! This subscription can make this happen and so much more and I continue to learn and grow as a teacher.

This subscription also comes with a sensor kit so I can practice and refine the student lessons I will teach making them applicable and accessible to all my students at their level of understanding.
