This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are 6th, 7th and 8th graders. The school is in a high-needs inner city neighborhood. The students are very interested in learning new things but the school has very limited resources. It is very frustrating having students who love to learn but do not have materials or experiences to support that desire.
I enjoy motivating and inspiring my students to be their best, so understanding and appreciating the value of education is very critical.
They deserve to have educational experiences and resources that support the high goals that they work towards every day. That's why it is so frustrating that all of the budget cuts made by the big decisionmakers seem to directly impact my students.
I am doing my best to try to bring positive, meaningful learning opportunities to my classroom, and I strive to make it a place that my students love to enter every day.
My Project
Breakfast is a very important meal because having a good breakfast can be the start to a positive, productive day. I would like to be able to provide my students with the various cereals, BelVita bars, and Pop Tarts in order to help them develop the habit of eating a good breakfast.
It can be very difficult to concentrate when you are hungry.
That is why these breakfast items will mean a lot to my students. They will be able to select nice, tasty breakfast treats which will be sure to put smiles on their faces. The items will help them start their day off right and will prepare them for all of the challenging tasks they will encounter.
