Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

None of my four special education students have seen a live performance but having a generous donor provide the funds for the tickets can change that. We have an excellent local children's theater who schedules performances during the school day & provides a discounted rate to school groups. While our students are interested in seeing Beauty and the Beast the cost of the tickets, even at a reduced price, are too high for most of the parents to purchase. There are no school based funds are available for our students to experience the arts. I would enjoy giving the students an opportunity to dress up and experience something special that day. They would certainly talk about the theater for a long time to come.
