We're a small, early childhood school that believes firmly that a healthy and active body is essential for learning.
Our school serves our students healthy and nutritious lunches and educates students on fitness and nutrition. We also believe that a child's imagination should be encouraged. Walk around our school and students will show you where the super heroes sleep, the door to the chamber of secrets, hidden treasures, and the gate that leads to the dragon's den. The majority of our students come from families who immigrated to the United States to give their children the best opportunity to succeed. They value education very much and always want the best for their children and will work long hours to support their family. Our school is dedicated to providing the best learning environment for our students.
My Project
Learning in pre-K is such a unique and beautiful process. Children are able to explore their imagination and creativity. Our role as the teacher is to constantly manipulate and change the environment so our children are constantly exploring new materials that can lead down different paths of studies and exploration.
The materials requested in this project is an assortment of random but also beautiful materials that our children will have the opportunity to guess and wonder about its purpose.
Without ever explicitly telling our students what these items are or what they're used for, they will open up their minds to find different purposes. The result will almost always surprise you as our children find creative and innovative ways to use materials we see every day and take for granted. Items such as marbles, sticks, tree blocks, rocks, and other miscellaneous art items that will intrigue our students' curiosity.
Our youngest learners are often the ones coming up with the most creative methods of using materials. We want our students to grow up to be the innovators of tomorrow. With that being said, their environment must change and they must constantly be challenged to think outside the box. Play is the highest form of research and classroom is their laboratory to discovery new and exciting things.
