Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at my school are transitioning from elementary to middle school. With this, I want to make the transition easier for them by creating an environment that is friendly, warm, welcoming, and which provides challenges on a daily basis.
Students will be exploring their own learning and personal growth by finding their passion and having the chance to explore their own potential.
Students will grow as individuals as well as within their community. Students in this area need a teacher who is their support and will push them in all areas of their education.
My Project
This will provide the students with a structured learning environment that is comfortable and conducive to their learning styles. This will allow for personalized learning in an environment that is typically structured, stale and cold.
These items will help with the transition from elementary to middle school become seamless as there will be a location in the school where they always feel comfortable and welcome.
Students in this classroom will feel valued and know they are welcome to take chances and make mistakes as long as they are learning. Science will be an incredible adventure that ensures all students find their place in our great big yet otherwise small world.
As you can see from the picture the room needs a friendly upgrade to ensure that the students have a comfortable learning environment where they feel welcome and ready to learn as it will be the start to their middle school life.
The decorative items will give the classroom a warm and comfortable feel while exploring science for the first time. The light blue has been proven to stimulate learning and allow for curiosity while allowing students to be comfortable.
The buzzers and bookcases will allow students to find and use their resources as they are readily available.
The star duct tape will allow me to create a "track" around the room where we can walk and learn to ensure more daily exercise.
