Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a product of the Chicago Public School district, I know the issues my students face daily. Yet, despite their circumstances, my students want to succeed in life, overcome all obstacles and make their families proud! My students are strong, vibrant and full of life, always ready to do the task at hand, but often wish there was more to class than just pen and paper. My students are respectful and well-mannered. Unfortunately, often times they have one too many odds stacked against them. It is my goal that a lack of resources not be another issue they face!
My Project
It is no secret that the learning environment is incredibly important to students' learning. This project would allow me to use classroom decor, specifically bulletin boards to promote programs at our school such as our International Baccalaureate Career Program as well as help create a beautiful English Language Arts spaces that students can learn in.
The learning environment should help guide student learning, create a safe space & help build community.
Items for this project include vinyl, kraft paper, cardstock & scalloped trim that will be used to decorate bulletin boards inside the classroom & outside the classroom. Your contribution to this project will help make this a reality. Beautiful bulletin boards can help celebrate diversity & create a community of students that share one goal- to learn.
