I work with a number of different students from my school, that range from 1st grade to 5th grade. They all have their own voice, creative minds, and different range of abilities. But the things that all my students have are a big heart, sweet kids, a willingness to learn more about how their body works when it comes to Physical Education class.
Many of my students come to class ready and eager to preform their daily exercises with great excitement, waiting to see what fun activities I have for them.
I also work with a number of special day class students, who are so very special and the general education students do take those students under their wings to make them feel a part of the school as much as they can. These students are just a wonderful group and I could not ask for a better group of students.
My Project
As a Physical Education teacher I am looking to create an environment of excitement, high energy and most importantly, FUN! When class is always outside on a hot day or cold day it can really slow down the kids during class. With the sport XL portable speaker I can keep the energy level high while playing music that will make them move to the rhythm of the music. Also, in the morning while kids are arriving to school we can be playing music as they arrive on campus feeling a sense of excitement and fun energy.
In Physical Education class I believe it is important for students to know what a resting heart rate is verses an active heart rate and how the beats from a song can help the heart beat faster or slower.
I would like students to track their heart rate at different points in physical education class and see how the heart works differently when they are active in class to not being active in class. The students will be collecting their fitness data throughout the year to monitor their progress in Physical Education class and see how their physical fitness has changed.
