My Students
I have approximately 16-18 students per class at one of the larger middle schools in our state. These students are learning to be engaged citizens by learning about our history and learning to ask and answer questions about the world. By asking questions and finding their own answers, my students are becoming better-informed citizens.
My students want to learn more about their history and how it relates to the world around them.
They want to connect the past to the present. They want to be able to understand why events of the past are important enough to learn about and why simple answers aren't always the best answers.
My Project
Students in my class have one-to-one computers provided by the Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI), but not all students have their own headphones. Many times to enhance learning or as a research resource, students are asked to watch videos online. Without their own headphones, some students end up sitting in the hall or in the corner of the room to be able to hear - not ideal.
Your donation will help to put all students on an equal playing field as far as technology goes.
Students would use these headphones on a near-daily basis as they prepare themselves to become citizens of the world.
