Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are seven and eight years old, eager to learn and love, and excited to come to school everyday. They love taking responsibility and becoming invested in their learning. They love to set goals and celebrate reaching them.

My students are full of life, laughter, and constant movement!

They love to dance and sing, and always have a joke to share! My students love to work together on projects, and really take pride completing tasks, both in groups and individually. They are motivated to reach goals, and are proud of our classroom community.

My Project

My students live in the city of Detroit, and our school is a part of Detroit Public Schools. My students need basic supplies ("bear" necessities) in order to be successful in school.

My students are energetic, bright, and eager to learn; they just need a boost to get them going!

Our school is dedicated to providing not only the best education to our children but also the best environment and supporting community. Our mission is to instill a love of learning for our children for the rest of their lives.

My students need basic hygiene tools - paper towels, soap, clorox wipes, and tissue paper. They need basic school supplies as well - pencils, markers, paper, and white boards. They need bookshelves to store the books we have in the classroom, and headphones to enhance their reading stations to help them read.
