My Students

My students are the scientists and need more laboratory chemicals and equipment to have the hands on CHEM-IS-TRY!

My students are striving to make a difference in their lives and take ownership of their learning.

Our school is in one of the poorest areas of Tampa and my kids need encouragement that they are capable of anything. These students just need to feel comfortable in the lab with their supplies and excited about a subject that is uncomfortable to their mindset.

My Project

These laboratory supplies are needed for them to be the scientist in their lab. The pipets provide a quick way of transferring materials and easy clean up for microlabs. The students design their own experiments and I provide exciting short demos to keep them interested in the sometimes complex ideas. The Potassium Chlorate and Butane Burner are used as reactant and catalyst with Gummy Bears. The Butane Burner provides mobility to be at a safe distance during the demonstration. The Gummy Bear Demo expands on the conversion of sugar to heat and light energy in a BIG way!

Being able to provide an exciting demo engages my students to be involved in the subject matter.

Students will be able to quickly do small experiments by themselves with the pipets and still get to their next class on time because of easy cleanup. Being able to capture their attention and make their use of the lab easy will encourage them to try and not walk away from an intimidating subject.
