Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
BEAR stands for Be Excited About Reading. My read-loud stand is empty. It needs to be filled with books so my classroom bear Goldie can show how exciting it is to read.
Goldie is ready to travel to student homes for the weekend and I would like to send a great read-aloud along with Goldie.
My students are first graders and they are eager to learn.
They love great stories to be read aloud to them. I feel this is essential to first grade success. I can easily borrow all the great read-alouds from the public library. However, sometimes the students want to see the same book over and over. Other times they would like to take it home.
I have requested some classics, some early readers, some Dr. Seuss and other rhyme books.
My Project
I want to have great books in my classroom. My students love to take Goldie home and adding a book will just add to the excitement. Hopefully, the parents will become involved and read more great books at home and visit the public library. I will be including an application to the public library in Goldie's weekend bag.
Every classroom should have a great library.
Children become lifelong readers when they are surrounded by great books. If you are a reader, you never forget your favorite childhood books.
