My Students

My students attend an urban, public school in Oklahoma that serves grades 9-12. Eighty-five percent of our students receive a free or reduced-price lunch. My students represent a lower-middle-class area, and most are in single-parent homes or live with grandparents. Most will be first-generation college students.

My Project

The items I am requesting are not thrilling but allow me to present my class with items made from a color printer, the ability to blow their nose in a comfortable way, and a tool that can help them stay focused while still doing their work. I try to create a nice learning environment for my students. One of the ways I do this is by anticipating their needs. These are items that I have asked for many times over the years of doing projects, and we keep using them because they are important to my students.
