My students need to replace two old beanbags and add some stack stools to keep boosting independent reading time.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every morning, we start off the day with a pledge based on our expectations and goals. Our aim is to create a learning atmosphere that lasts until the last minute of the day.
My students are 31 kids who come to school with a positive attitude everyday.
They are extremely outspoken and competitive, but sweet and caring at the same time. Some of them have shared with me how much they have learned in 5th grade and this motivates me to keep asking for your generosity one more time. And most of my students do not have access to either a book or a personal space at home. I have the books, but I would like to keep my unique reading area in my class in great shape.
My Project
We are asking for two big beanbags and stack stools to create a better reading area in my classroom. Anytime my students want to read, they only go and sit down on the dark rug. As a 5th grader teacher, I do not have a colorful rug because of the budget restrictions. I truly believe that if I have these new beanbags and stack stools in my classroom, I will be offering comfort, independence, and confidence to all my students when it is time to read.
Having these beanbags and stools in my classroom will be the tools I need to teach my students the real meaning of equity, too.
I also believe that a little bit of comfort is never a bad idea when learning. I am ready to offer them tools to create a learning atmosphere where they feel safe and focused.
