Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the proud teacher of an amazing group of first graders. They are curious with a lot of energy and love for learning. My students come to school daily and find pleasure in being there and love their school. They live in the small city of LaHabra in North Orange County. My students come from home were parents work many jobs to provide their children food, clothes, and shelter.
Reading is a crucial skill that I want my amazing students to have to become avid readers and help them build a durable stamina and love for reading and learning.
Students in my class are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. For my first grade learners, books and a positive environment to read are so important and are truly valuable.
My classroom is a flexible seating environment. My students rotate using four available classroom beach chairs to sit and read. Chairs take up space and are limited in my room. I wish to create a place for my students to feel comfortable to read books that they love.
My Project
My students love books. They want to read. To read longer and enjoy it, I want them to feel comfortable . The more relaxed they are the longer 5hey will read. Sitting on the carpet or on a chair can be limiting to the time that they might otherwise read if they are sitting on a cushioned item like the bean bag.
Reading is such a crucial skill for my students to develop.
I want my students to feel that reading is not a physical burden but a enjoyable mental activity . I think bean bags will give them the comfort they need and deserve to sit and it will r ability to last longer and motivate them to read more books and longer time.
