My Students

I have seven students in my special day class and 19 resource students from K-3 grade. My students are eager to learn and love school for the most part, but struggle with certain disabilities. Some are autistic, some are hyperactive, and some have processing issues. They may have difficulties just communicating what their needs are, but they always arrive to school with big smiles eager to learn. So after a hard morning of reading, working math problems and writing, it is important to have down time. We love to gather and listen to a chapter book, snuggling in pillows and hugging our stuffed animals.

My Project

My students have a hard time sitting still. Being able to snuggle into a bean bag helps with all the wiggles and lets students listen to the story being read. We have three bean bags currently but need four more in order for everyone to have their own seating. We love it when it is our turn to have the current bean bag, but it would be so special if each of us could have our own space. We truly do listen to what is being read and love this relaxation time. Please help us each have our own separate seating space.
