My name is Mr. Jenkins, I recently graduated college, and am now a first year teacher in 5th grade.
I teach all subjects at a title IX school in a rural area in South Carolina.
I have nineteen, culturally diverse, and respectful boys and girls. I recently have taken on a few new students. A majority of my students live at or below the poverty line. I also have a couple of lovely students who require special education services.
I am already in love with students, since day one we have made a bond almost like a "family."
I am asking for two bean bag chairs to use in my reading area. I would like to give my students a comfortable area to sit and relax while they are reading. My class would really benefit from this because most of my students are "reluctant readers," and find it difficult to read while sitting in cramped desk, or on hard floors. The bean bag chairs would be used as a flexible seating option for certain students; also, they would be used as a reward for early finishers and those displaying positive behavior. I know my students and I would appreciate, and benefit from having these seating options.
