I am a first year teacher in a brand new school in Chicago's West Inglewood neighborhood. The resource I am requesting for my Kindergarten classroom is an interactive bean bag learning center. This center will engage my energetic students' interests and help them get the practice they need with basic concepts including colors, numbers, and alphabet letters. I have found throughout the year that my students learn best while actively engaged. They have enjoyed spelling the alphabet with their bodies and creating simple patterns through movement. Unfortunately, our school does not have a play ground and my students only go to PE once a week, so our opportunities for active play are limited. I am always looking for new activities to engage my kinesthetic learners, and I know that this center will be the perfect addition to our room!
