This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help create empowered leaders!
I teach a tenth grade Leadership elective course in Bushwick, Brooklyn that focuses on creating critical thinkers and active community members.
Our students are working on a school service project inspired by Gandhi's quote: "Be the change you wish to see in the world." In order to take part in the project and create momentum in our school they will market the idea with t shirts choosing a "change" they wish to see and create more of in our school (kindness, patience, support, compassion, etc).
We need about 80 white t shirts so that every student can market and "be the change" they wish to be more of and see more of in our school. Our students will become empowered to see that they can create positive, immediate change in themselves and their environment.
You can help! By donating to our cause you will prove how adults choose to "be the change". By supporting us with such a positive example our students will be even more motivated to give back and show that we are powerful enough to create the world that we envision through simple acts of service. Thank you for your support!
