I teach sophomore and junior students that are in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years MYP), Full Diploma (DP), and Career Programs (CP). Specifically, I teach the MYP US History and the DP Global Politics courses. These are academically challenging college-levels courses that our most dedicated and hard-working students choose to participate in.
Truly, my students enrolled in these courses are the dedicated not gaining as much knowledge about historical and contemporary events, but on being agents of change in our world!
Each day, I start class stating, "Good morning students. I cannot wait until you run the world! Let's get started!"
My Project
The Chromebooks will be used by all of my 10th, 11th, and 12th grade IB students. Students enrolled in our 10th grade International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IB MYP), are dedicated to learn United States History from multiple perspectives. Students in this course understand they must be committed to advancing their reading, reflecting, writing skills, and civic participation to ensure they are prepared to then take the 2-year, college level, IB Full Diploma (IB DP) Global Politics course.
Students are expected to create Google Site pages, complete assignments in the Google Classroom, and keep online portfolios of their learning experiences.
Through these online assignments and assessments, students will demonstrate they understand how to learn and analyze information from multiple perspectives, reflect and draw evidence-based conclusions, and then take action in a thoughtful manner pertaining to specific global issues.
