Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am writing this proposal for my high school vocal students that participate in our Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Choirs. Our high school serves a large urban area and has a high percentage of students that are low-income.
Many of our students are highly interested and motivated in their study of vocal music.
During the school year they prepare for concerts, vocal contest and college auditions. They learn about music theory, vocal production and a wide range of vocal repertoire.
My Project
It drives me crazy when my students do not come prepared for a rigorous rehearsal. Yes, can you believe that they would come to class without a pencil? It would be great to have a stash of mechanical pencils to loan students who come to class unprepared. Once rehearsal gets going we do not have time to stop while students sharpen their pencils. Mechanical pencils are a must.
You can make a difference in the quality of the learning of my students.
Please consider being a partner in their learning through building the resources that they will use to be highly successful in vocal music. Giving my students access to these vital and important resources will make a significant difference in how they experience music at the high school level.
