My students love to explore, create, inquire, and think outside the box! They love to build, learn new games, and play outside. They even build during outdoor recess with our wood boards and pieces.
These first graders love to collaborate, whether on a new math game, a good book, or a new idea they are exploring!
Exploration and the natural world is a big part of our path to learning as we engage in reading, writing, math, and learning about our world!
My Project
I am looking to create a Regio-inspired studio in our classroom which will provide students a place to explore, create, and document their learning in creative ways. Creating a nature inspired area with fish, a magnifying glass to observe nature finds up close, and inspiring art books, paint, and collage materials will give students an inspiring place to work. Art materials will be used to show learning in new ways and will give students many choices as they create. Students will use the materials to respond to literature, create models for science learning, and document science observations.
I want to provide a work space that is inviting, sensory, aesthetically pleasing, and with natural elements.
Using a wooden picnic table for working and an array of materials surrounded by plants, fish, and beautiful books to inspire kids' creativity, will provide the perfect creative backdrop.
I want to give students a wide-range of ways to show their learning and creativity in an inviting atmosphere.
