My elementary school serves students ranging in grades Pre-K through 4th grade. My first-grade classroom is filled with 20 energetic, fun-loving, curious "tiny humans." They make me chuckle every single day.
My students continuously overcome obstacles thrown at them each and every day, and still always surprise me with their eagerness and readiness to learn.
They come to school each day with a smile, a hug, and a laugh.
I feel very lucky to be teaching these students, and even luckier that I can experience everything that they end up teaching me!
I am a new-to-first-grade teacher in a new school. I’ve done my best to furnish our jungle-themed classroom with my own money, but a carpet big enough for all my students to sit on at the same time is an expense I just cannot afford right now.
Students will use this carpet during Morning Meeting, during whole group instruction, and during quiet reading times.
We spend more than half our day in this area, which we have been lovingly calling “the invisible carpet” since September. Students would be THRILLED to walk in and see a brand new rug for them to sit on!
