My Students
I have a class full of eager and energetic students. They overcome adversity every day when they simply walk through my classroom doors. It is here when they can let down their guards and live up to their full potential. Although they live in an impoverished area, I teach my students they do not have to be a product of their environments. My students know each time they walk through my classroom doors they will feel love.
My classroom runs like a family.
I expect everyone to treat each other with love and respect, to look out and help one another in need. My classroom is a place where barriers and walls can come down and my students can flourish because they know I only want them to be great. We learn lessons that go beyond standards, lessons that are useful for growth throughout life. I have never seen such a caring and loving bunch of kids. They are always eager to please their teacher. It seems like pleasing me in return makes them happy.
My Project
What a crazy and weird First Grade experience my students are having. We have been virtual since September and are not expected to be back until possibly early February. I am asking for a variety of Valentines Day , goodies, and candy to give to all my students. If we are in person, this would be a fun way for us to experience the holiday together, and if we are still virtual then I am able to separate all the things and distribute them to students so they can have this experience virtually. We will have a chance to play Bingo as a class or virtually on Zoom. I also plan to read a Valentines day book, take a virtual scavenger hunt and enjoy good bags.
My students have worked tremendously hard virtually on Zoom, being able to do Valentines Day activities will give my students a much needed and deserving break.
