Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As the school social worker at three different schools, I am continuing to see students over the summer and into next year and would like to give my students the supplies to engage in more therapy games and art therapy projects like making treasure boxes to talk about the things we treasure, bracelets as part of grief processing and calming jars. I also want to make sure they aren't hungry so their minds are fueled to do the difficult work of counseling! I want my students to learn to be kind to their minds by taking care of their bodies, working through challenging emotions, and feeling confident in the skills they learn to move forward and be happy!
