This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As the school year returns to normalcy, we begin to see our scholars return to sports and fans rushing back to gymnasiums. Sports are one of the most constructive outlets for many of our scholars who come from underserved committees. Through sports, our scholars learn valuable life lessons such as skill-building, teamwork, and humility. We work with our scholars to procure their talents, locate the proper resources, provide genuine exposure, and ensure the right support system surrounding the athlete.
When our scholars are given the same opportunities as those with access to the proper resources, many of them find benefits that help them in their future.
Benefits such as valuable team skills, positive impacts on health, and abilities revolving around social interaction. For parents of low-income scholars, this does not just mean they are not able to chase their dreams. It means that they are robbed of an experience that may help them develop the proper abilities to succeed later in life.
My Project
Basketball is a widely known game. In the beginning, students play the ball out of excitement but as they continue playing, they begin to develop completive skills. Apart from enjoying or winning in a competition, basketball has many other health benefits. Our school is an all male academy. Research shows basketball requires a certain extent of physical preparedness, coupled with a top-notch knowledge of tactics and strategic gameplay. Since basketball encompasses a wide range of skills, we have noticed how basketball is often regarded as an ideal discipline for scholars.
As a sports discipline, basketball is a highly intense game involving mental well-being, complex physical training, and strategic thinking.
We hat teamed with the local YMCA to provide a gaming facility for scholars. The items requested in this project will help scholars utilize the facility to its maximum usability, as a normal school gymnasium. The speaker will allow coaches and scorekeepers to announce pertinent information to fans. The gear selected will help scholars perform at their best this season by helping them to gain strength, coordination, and muscular endurance. Your donation to this project will help scholars gain confidence as they reap the benefits of the game, progress on their own path, and most importantly, have fun.
