Mrs. Hennecke from Fort Worth TX is requesting musical instruments through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students more instruments. They are eager to learn to play them. I would love to give them the best musical experience they could possibly have this year.

I teach music to the whole school. At this school 96% are black, 4% are Hispanic, Asian and Anglo. As a school, we are building global leaders, who are socially and emotionally, occupationally ready by providing educational excellence to the students. My students are smart, lively and excited to learn about music and move to the beat. They love singing and playing games in music. They enjoy playing instruments. They are very excited to learn to play instruments and sing and play their games. We are working on how to maintain a steady beat. These students did not have a consistent music teacher last year. The art teacher tried to fill in to teach music. These students are ready to learn and they come ready to work on music. The 90% of scholars are from low income homes and have free breakfast and lunch. The school is Title One, and just had a fire at our school. I am working with students on the basics. They ask me if I am going to leave them. I tell them no, I am here to stay. We have only one carpet and sometimes we need more carpets for all students.
I am in a Title One School with 97% of our students on free and reduced breakfast and lunch. The prior music teacher left in the early part of the last year, and many did not have a good music experience. The school has mostly low income families. These students do not get many opportunities. They relish the times to play instruments in the music classroom. I have found that there are not a lot of instruments to choose from. The school needs items for drumming and boom whackers. The students learn more music when they can play and sing with instruments. Boom whackers will make them understand reading music. Boom whackers are tuned pitched drumming instruments where each tube is an individual part of a chromatic or diatonic scale. You can be instrumental in giving students this experience.
