My Project

WSA is a sub-separate program for students with social/emotional needs. Here, students take their academics in a small therapeutic setting that allows them to receive the extra support they need in order to be successful.

Everyday we work with our students on promoting social/emotional health and building and practicing coping strategies.

For many of our students, art is one of the best ways to work through their depression and anxiety. These materials would be used to encourage their creativity and healthy expression of emotions.

These students are brave and resilient individuals who have endured issues and traumas that their peers have not. Most of our students are economically deprived and have rare opportunities to enjoy nice new materials. These art supplies would be loved and used by our students every single day in art class, in their academic classes, and in their individual artistic activities.

When students are able to use art and music to deal with their stresses they feel better. They feel safe. When they feel safe and calm, they are much more ready to learn, leading to more success across all areas!!
