Our school is in a small community and that community-like feeling transfers into the classroom. Our classroom is comprised of 66 seventh grade students who receive both reading and writing instruction throughout the day.
My students are starting to mature into young adults, and while this is happening, they're also trying to figure out who they are.
These students need to feel comfortable in their environment, be able to move around the classroom, and love to be social. Not only do they keep me on my feet and remind me of why I love to teach, but they also are teaching me every day!
My Project
The students in our classroom are constantly looking for new high-interest books that appeal to their age group. Currently, our classroom library has quite a few outdated books that no one is reading. Our classroom needs to freshen up the selection with some brand new fiction books that students in this day and age can relate to!
Our hope is to get some brand new books that children will want to read into our classroom library.
The books on this list are compiled from our Battle of the Books list for the year. Many students have been inquiring about reading these books and I would love to have these in our classroom library!
