My students are inquisitive, creative, and excited to learn! The enthusiasm they bring to class on a daily basis is contagious. They inspire each other to work hard and to be the best they can be.
My students are risk-takers who are willing to try new things and encourage others to try with them.
I am always impressed by their kindness and selfless acts towards one another. My students inspire each other to always put forth their best effort, but they also inspire me.
My Project
I would like to attend the American Battlefield Trust's National Teacher Institute in Mobile, Alabama.
Attending breakout sessions, workshops, lectures, and tours while learning from historians and the leading experts will provide me with an immersive learning experience.
The American Battlefield Trust is dedicated to preserving the United State's most sacred battlegrounds. They strive to educate people on the history and importance of these special places across our nation. Each year the American Battlefield Trust holds a National Teacher's Institute where educators from across the country can come together to learn, inspire, and collaborate with each other and become more well-rounded educators while learning about the battlegrounds and history behind them.
Attending the American Battlefield Trust's National Teacher Institute will allow me to experience place-based learning by visiting actual battlefields while learning from the experts. I will also be given the opportunity to learn from, collaborate, and discuss historical content with other educators from across the country, gaining new insights and perspectives. Finally, I will increase my content knowledge of United States history that will allow me to create more engaging and exciting lessons for my students to learn from.
