This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The challenge facing my students is reading all of the titles in order to answer all questions about the book titles in the Battle of the Books competition.
My students are from low-income families of which 97.7% of my students receive free and reduced lunch.
My students want to achieve success in the Battle of the Books program this year and love to read. They love to show how much they know about the titles they've read with other children.
My Project
These resources will change my students' lives for the better when I am able to project the chapters of the books with the document camera that the students may read them together. I have found that the students love to listen to an audio version of the book that I read from my voice memos. In this way, students will have text, audio, and projected text to read and be successful as I reach all learners.
Donations to this request will make a difference to our students because they do not know what it is like to read a book from cover to cover.
They never had the opportunity to see how wonderful it is to read and be read to on a constant basis. With these books and document camera, this will introduce students to the wonderful world of books. They will look at reading in a positive way.
