My Students

The 2017-2018 school year will be our seventh year of having a martial arts program, and the benefits have been amazing. Students have cited better focus, discipline, and confidence as the result of taking martial arts.

My high school is a charter school that is arts integrated, so creativity happens in every class, from art class to History, Science and English.

My students love to showcase themselves through their art. They are passionate and expressive, and everything I love about teaching. Martial Arts provides a way for them to express themselves physically.

My Project

The Battle of Atlanta is one of the bigger tournaments of the summer and always pulls a big group of under belt competitors for my students to compete against.

Last year was an excellent event for them to compete at, and I feel confident that this year will be even better.

Several of my students have moved up into harder divisions, which challenges them, and this tournament will be an excellent opportunity for them to test their skills.

My students have also added some new divisions, team synchronized forms and team sparring, are they are eager to compete in those divisions. They are dramatically more difficult.
