Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I truly believe my terrific, inquisitive 3rd graders are capable of reaching their academic goals. I love seeing their faces light up as they learn new math, science, and literacy skills.
My students live in and attend school in a high poverty area and many come from single parent families who can't afford life essentials such as food, clothing, and shelter.
At our school, 100% of the students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Despite the challenges of poverty, they arrive at school eager and ready for the day's lessons and projects.
My Project
Recently our class received Donors Choose funding for our Botley the Coding Robot project. Each Botley robot needs batteries to function and power my students into conducting coding activities.
My beginner coding students love STEM projects and need batteries for the classroom Botley the coding robots.
STEM projects are very engaging and help my students develop their critical thinking skills. Our Botley STEM coding robots are only as good as the batteries inside them. At the beginning of some coding sessions Botley needs fresh batteries so students can learn and practice coding skills. For a large classroom with multiple robots we need a lot of batteries. Please help us acquire the batteries necessary to code with our Botley coding robots.
I am also requesting wipes so students can clean both their hands and the Botley coding robots. By cleaning their hands and robots students learn hygiene skills and keep from spreading germs.
