The students at my high school are special because of their multicultural environment they live in and attend school in. At my school we have a great deal of diversity not only with several different races but also socioeconomic status as well. My school has students who are homeless attending school and students who have just arrived in the country attending as well, you can find a little bit of everything here.
One of the characteristics of the students here that makes them special and awesome is that I truly believe they don't see any of the barriers that separate us in society.
Students of many different faiths, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds get along and their relationships transcend these boundaries and barriers that divide us in our communities.
My Project
The materials that I chose for this project will impact the athletes in our baseball program from day 1. Out of the box, athletes will have a better opportunity to take advantage of time to develop the skills needed to succeed playing the game of baseball. The batting tees and hitting nets will have a major impact on the athletes right away because these are training aides that can be put into work out of the box day 1. These training aides will allow the coaches to set up drills that can maximize the athletes time in drills and improving their skills and minimize the time our athletes are standing around waiting for individual attention.
I put two gloves on the order form that are expensive but are a necessity for our program.
Our athletes come to us sometimes without a glove and are anxious about even trying out let alone making a baseball team. Getting a couple of program gloves that are high quality leather will allow the program to have extra gloves on hand for many years to come and will allow athletes who normally cannot afford a glove to have the opportunity to participate in this great sport.
I also put on the list 36 baseballs. New baseballs are a necessity to improve the quality of a baseball program and too often athletes are practicing with baseballs that are several seasons old and are no longer white so they become difficult to see. These baseballs will allow us to practice game situations that are safe for our athletes and provide realistic training as well.
