This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school will prepare 100% of our scholars for high school in hopes of them all graduating high school and moving forward to college and career readiness.

Our mission is to increase high school graduation rates by providing a supportive and flexible learning environment that challenges every learner to find their voice and to exercise choice as they design their own pathways to success.

Our school implements a different teaching/learning model based on the processes that lead to growth. Our students belong to underserved communities in West Philadelphia.

My Project

My students are the greatest inner city students. They unfortunately have very little space to take part in sports. I would like to see them involved in getting up and doing an actual activity before school, after school, and during their lunch time. An activity like basketball would teach these students how to work with other students and learn good sportsmanship. It would also allow some students who don't know how to play the chance to play because we will have extra balls and another basketball hoop set up. This would include more students and encourage even our girls to get involved because we have extra supplies.
