This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am coaching basketball with my co-teacher for my school basketball team. Currently, the players don't have uniforms. I am doing this project to get my team uniforms so that they can play with uniforms like the other teams have. They will look like real players, feel like real players and play like real players. My students are amazing kids who want to do well in school and also really care about playing sports and love basketball. Basketball is an outlet for students in school to take their minds off of schoolwork and home life and give them a chance to build friendships and comradery. My students look forward to coming to practice and playing together. They want to do well and want to win. I want my students to have uniforms so that they can be proud of who they are and what they are accomplishing. While doing all the above, my students will also be doing exercise, will be active, and get physical activity in which all students need in school. By having these uniforms, we will also inspire other students in the school to want to try out as well and join. Team sports is really important to students doing well in school and I want my students to have an amazing time doing it.
