Basketball Storage Rack

My students need a sturdy way to store the basketballs we currently have and need new Lockable Ball Storage. The cart we currently have is broken, the welds holding the sides have mostly been busted.

My Students

I have the joy of teaching physical education to over 350 rural students at a highly agricultural school. We are also very diverse in our race. We have a high population of Hispanic students whose parents work during the warm months then move back to Texas or Mexico during the winter months, taking the students with them.

It's a unique environment in our school with so many transfer students.

It makes for well adjusted students and peer acceptance. With diverse students, their interest in sports is varying as well. Basketball is a common sport that most of my students take great interest in.

My Project

My students need a new basketball storage rack. The one we currently have is broken and is a safety hazard. The sides and bottom welds have been broken and zip ties have been used to attempt to fix.

A new rack, along with a new basketball, would enhance my basketball unit and would be a safer way to pass out basketballs.

Not only would the elementary Physical Education classes utilize this storage cart, the Jr. High basketball teams could also benefit from the new equipment.

I've been working on redoing my equipment room the past few years, a basketball cart is one of the last items I would need to to finalize my project.
