Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

It is amazing how much our students love physical activity and exercise! Unfortunately, opportunities for many of these same students are very limited outside the school setting as a result of a lack of high-quality resources and facilities in their neighborhoods.

Our school's Physical Education program has the wonderful opportunity to create an innovative, high-quality experience for our urban students to learn and appreciate the health benefits of physical activity.

The City of Indianapolis is thriving economically, but many of our families still face economic challenges with over 70% of our students receiving free lunches. New supplies and equipment are sure to bring excitement and energy into the learning environment.

My Project

Students work hard on the basketball court but our balls are old and worn out. We have a need for new basketballs that will stand the test of time and can be used during game play throughout the season. Students value the use of good quality balls and frequently ask if we have better balls. What a surprise it would be to make their wishes come true!

Our coaches and players work so hard and would benefit greatly from new official size basketballs.

The many lessons that are learned from team sports are valuable and enhance our students' ability to cooperate with others to achieve their goals. Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a difference in our children's lives.
