I teach students with special needs in a rural elementary school in Northeastern, Kentucky. Over three-quarters of these students struggle with poverty. The students I teach also cope with the additional challenges of their disabilities. These children are helpful, kind, and determined. They just need a little extra love, guidance, and support. I enjoy working with these students because they always have a smile and hug for everyone each day, and I can assist them in mastering the life skills they will need to succeed in the future. I would like to offer my students the supplies they need to make academic gains and meet their goals.
My Project
My students need basic supplies such as pencils, crayons, and tape to function in the classroom on a daily basis. Our children need to practice their writing, strengthen their math skills, learn colors, and improve cooperation abilities with peers. Your donation will provide these students the hands-on manipulatives they need to be successful.
Your investment will assist our students in learning problem-solving abilities, cooperation skills, and content knowledge.
These essential areas are important not only for academic success today, but also for prospering in adulthood in the future. Without your generosity, we may not be able to offer these children all the support that they need to become independent learners that function successfully within their communities. Our goal is to foster reading, writing, mathematical, and social skills so that these children can grow up to be fully contributing citizens.
