Thomas Gregg Neighborhood School is in a high impoverished area. The school has 100% free or reduced lunches, and has several organizations that are set up to help the families get back on their feet. With that said, there are a lot of needs.
My students are energetic and hungry to learn.
They have limited access to educational experiences at home, but boy they try. Just some basic supplies could mean a huge difference in our classroom. Parents are often not able to provide much, so any help would give my kiddos a real advantage throughout the rest of the year.
My Project
My school is a low income school, so many basics are lacking, such as pencils, pens, and post-it notes. It would be nice to be able to supply those items this year. Something as simple as not having a writing utensil can really affect the day for a kid. Keeping up with their needs last year was very difficult, so I’d like to start the year with many of the things that they need. Please help the kids in my classroom make it through every day without having to worry whether or not they will have the basic supplies needed.
